Right n Wrong

The night was young and cold. A few were smoking on the porch. The rest sat on the couch listening to music and sipping booze. Perched on top of chair, i, the neutral observer.Notebook in mind, camera in eyes. Another blast of air made its way through the haze of smoke into the room.

"Machaan, close the dumbledoor da!", said a pj dog from LA.

PJ parade, Silly games and Puke are the order of the day. I have sat through surprisingly large number of booze parties. No, i don't drink. Not even once in my life. And, i never will (*Eyes Blazing*).

I remember drunken nights back at parkway plaza. The thing is, this time around i really got high.I have never been so high in my life. And, i just had some coke( the drink) :P . We used to have these sheets of paper, with different things written on it.Infact, Mudit had written down the first line of this blog to build up some story. Spin till you crash into something.String theory and device physics.Param had taken us out to bowling after boozing.(This was back at parkway).Kick ass.

Nothing yet

172 entries in my cell phone, over 9000 calls and about 320 hours of talk time. How many names do you know? A rough estimate? About a couple of thousands? may be thats a little too much. I have realized that my social circle is a very narrow spectrum of professionals (Yea! it took me so long to figure that out). About 90 % of them are in academics, engineers in particular. A couple of biologists, a few psychologists and thats about it.I am actually glad that my dad is not in acads, atleast professionally. He would love to be.It is not that i do not like the company of my friends. Most Definately Yes! Thats why i am around them. I guess, i would like to know a wide spectrum of people. Someone from the armed forces, or who is in agriculture, music. I would guess it would make a very healthy way of getting to know a lot of cool things. It might be a good idea to move from this place.

Thanksgiving was spoiled by intruders from Cal.Repeated and copied jokes for few days.No potlucks. I don't think i will be invitedto any more potlucks.

1) Very bad reputation of my cooking skills.

2) to overcome this, i did'nt take any food for the past few times.Ob! they say "Get out of here"

Where are angels anyway?

North Pole

In retrospection, it seems like a very bad idea. Her photo slipped from my hand and fluttered away.I tried to grab at it with my flag but to no avail.Did you know that falling through space into potentially infinity can REALLY clear your head.I figure you have a lot of time to contemplate things. With legs and limbs flailing all around, you have a good amount of oxygen to get those hormones ticking. I digress. It all started with my neighbor trying to impress my wife. "I once hiked all the way till North Pole.If you ever go there, and find a US flag and your pic, you will know whoplaced it there".She would smile coyly. That sonovabitch. And, so i decide to hike up the N.Pole and place the booty myself.Yup! it most definately the dumbest thing, i have ever done.
No later did i planted the flag, the earth flipped and i fell out.

A story and a question

She works at a cafeteria near my place. She has soft brown eyes, deep with secrets. She was born an orphan. May be that's why she was drawn to be secretive. She answered everything through questions? Her life began with question to which she had no answer. She wants to marry a spy.No, not James Bond, you moron! Some regular, run-of-the-mill spy.Your next door neighbor. And, when she would marry, she would have a lot of secret affairs. And, just like that, a day would come when she would leave everything mysteriously.Exit symmetry.

On a lighter note, i was talking to subbu about defense and presentations. So, it is a good idea to have someone in the audience with a pre-determined question.Like that, you can pretend to know a lot of crap and you are'nt just blabbering.See what i am sayin? During my lighter undergrad days, a friend of mine was very adept at organizing such sting operations. So, he asked X to ask him some really simple question during the presentaion.Y was sitting behind X, and he volunteered to ask the question. So, my friend happily ranted out the presentation. And, time for questions? Y raises his hand. With a hint of a smile,"Yes?". Y says,"Y is this so and so". "That's a good question! bla,bla,blah!....what was that again?". This friend had'nt realized that Y had tricked him with some other question :)). And, he had ranted half way through before realizing this!

Have a nice day!

104 Bus

I take a right at the signal, instead of going straight.I quickly scan the mirrors. A variety of emotions. Some look at each other. Why? I check the road to make sure nothing is amiss and steal another glance.A knowing smile on the veterans. Some look worried to the point of being sick. They understand, eventually; Most of the times, they do :)

Part of an urging in me, to take a new different route every day. I pause to pick up a few at the next stop.Once, i skipped a stop entirely. The look on their faces was outrageous.I wish i had taken a pic to show you. So, as i say, i tend to pick up a new random direction.Sometimes it backfires. Once, we landed up in a noman's land.It worked out well in the end.It always does.

It is kind of amusing. The variety of people, i meet. Some are just changing stops, some stick for a lot longer. No matter how long they stay, i always wanna go places with them ;Places neither i have never been to nor they have. That is part of the deal, that makes even mundane things exciting.

Sweet n Sour

I see him.Walking briskly, head bent down to avoid the beating rain. The moonless night is ideal for hunting. I see a faint glimmer of recognition in his eyes. A slight hesitation in his next step. One fist got him squarely in his eye. With his neck in my grasp, i ran down the length of the alley. Late night show! I beat the sh!t out of him.A broken nose, couple of missing teeth later,"...call her..please!", he spluttered. Believe me, i would have let him.She would'nt like it.After all, it was her idea.

Moving Forward >>

I hate situations when you know the only way to go is forward. On a sunday night, like now, i stand infront of the dark corridor that leads upto my place. A lone street lamp in its final stages of life flickers once in a while. In the faltering lights, i see a pair of steady ones lurking behind the sly dust bins.I rear up a lot.Flex my muscles a little. A deep breath in, one hand placed near the pocket. I pick up speed, hurtling along and plunge into the darkness. The lamp flickers one more time.Time warps.Shifty eyes turn alert. I issue a heart-rending, soul-splitting war cry;Out comes the first stone from my pocket.Smack! Right,in the face of chasing mongrel.Rest is as he says: history

QOC

Was huckleberryfin the cross-dresser or was it tom sawyer?

I am a grandfather now.It is that complicated thing.My mom's sister's daughter's daughter had a son and therefore i am a grandpa.

Newton was a sissy fart god.He did'nt see the apple fall down and come up with gravity. He was trying to cult some apples from the neighbour's orchard. He saw that guy running towards the tree, so he sits down and puts up a contemplative face.To cover up, he blames it on the earth.I did'nt do it.He did it. Gravity Sucks ( from a friend's tee, a long time back)

Trees of thoughts

A sleepy stream flowing light and shallow.Smooth stones at the bed. Dense foliage all around me. Floating feather passes me, a thought written on top of it. On the shores, at a distance, small fires begin to show up. The warmth draws me closer. The light and smoke play simple tricks. Do they have a message? I don't know. The setting becomes hazy and dreamy. I make a pillow with my hand and i go to sleep. The trees seem to have grown money.
